The grounds behind the church was originally a dedication garden in which one could stroll or rest, contemplate and meditate, still it was apparent that there was a need for a formal place to have ashes interred.
Barbara and AI & Jean Rognstad worked up a design and submitted it to the vestry in June 2010. The design called for a garden that would again be a serene place to meditate and enjoy God’s nature.Much of the work was done from volunteers outside the parish. The garden has taken shape and with the beautiful angel it is now a very special place. Bishop Duncan dedicated the garden as St. Mary’s Burial Garth in May 2011
